The Nitram Sharpening Block is the ideal tool for shaping and sharpening charcoal and other drawing media. If you like making graphite powder or charcoal powder, the sharpening block will assist greatly in doing that. The bigger charcoal blocs are ideal for making powder.

Tip: A fine-toothed paper is better suited to adhere to the charcoal and create less dust, while a rough-toothed paper will adhere but it can be more difficult to blend the charcoal.
