White Gesso Primer – Zellen

Gesso can be thought of as the bridge between your support (canvas, board or whatever you paint on) and the paint. Zellen White Acrylic Gesso is a quick-drying acrylic primer similar to white acrylic paint, only thinner and it dries hard, making the surface stiffer. Gesso prepares (or “primes”) the surface for painting, making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept acrylic paint. Without gesso, the paint would soak into the weave of the canvas.
Apply Zellen’s White Gesso Primer to prepare your surface for acrylic or oil painting. This primer, recommended to be applied in layers, has a matt finish and slight tooth.
