Calligraphy is a noble, old art form and Winsor & Newton were determined to do it justice – these inks are made in 18 lightfast colours with carefully chosen pigments to ensure colour brilliance. Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Inks have a permanence rating of AA or A but are not waterproof.
The 14 blue-capped bottles contain thinner, more transparent inks with a satin finish. They’re suitable for dip-pens, fountain pens, technical pens and airbrushes.
The four red-capped bottles are opaque and should be used with a dip-pen or brush.
TIPS FOR PREVENTING ‘BLEEDING’ OF CALLIGRAPHY INKS ON PAPER
Bleeding will not occur on good quality watercolour or cartridge paper. If using handmade paper then it is recommended that the paper is sized. It is also possible to use Lifting Preparation, stretching the paper first if necessary.
