This paper blending stump by Caran d’Ache is suitable for use with pastels, charcoal, graphite and coloured pencils. It is made from tightly bound paper, which feels like a hard blotting paper pencil. Smooth, precise after sharpening, the stump allows graphite, charcoal and pastels to be applied and worked in a way that is non-aggressive for the support. When the tip of your blending stump becomes too dull or dirty, you can sharpen it using a sand paper block, a knife or a large pencil sharpener for precision, and is great for blending colours and softening edges. It has a diameter of 1.1cm and comes sharpened on both ends.
The paper blending Stump is also called Torchon or Tortillion.
