Tools, made by hand, in Erie, PA. Designed with an intimate knowledge of woodcarving. Handcrafted by skilled tradesmen. Founded in 1986, under the name of Falls Run Woodcarving, Flexcut began as a custom carving shop and woodcarving school. It wasn’t until 1992 that the company began manufacturing operations, with the goal of delivering tools to the masses. Today, Flexcut Tools design, manufactures and distributes more than 300 products developed for the woodcarving industry. Their goal is to produce a user-friendly, affordable product that wood carvers and printmakers can use to create beautiful works of art for years to come.

Beginner Palm Carving Tool Set:

The Palm Tool Beginners Set is a great for those just getting started or those with more experience who like to carve smaller sized projects. The handle fits comfortably in the palm, allowing for good control close to your work. The five profiles can perform a variety of tasks and carve moderate detail.

Wide Palm Carving Tool Set:

Flexcut’s super-popular Wide-Format Palm Set allows artists to remove more material, more efficiently, without sacrificing close control. The low-resistance edge gives them the feel of a narrower tool. The tools are housed in a wooden box for storage and protection.

Micro Palm Carving Tool Set:

The Flexcut Micro Palm Set includes four tools suitable for relief printmaking methods such as linocut or woodcut. The base of the tool fits comfortably into the palm and allows for full flexibility when cutting. The tools are housed in a wooden box for storage and protection.

Lino & Relief Printmaking Set:

This set contains four carving blades, a quick-connect ABS handle, an 11-pocket tool roll, a custom strop and polishing compound.This set is ideal for relief printing, which is based on a reductive process; carve the non-image away from a flat, level surface and ink the remaining top surface with a roller or brayer in order to print the image.

This set includes:

• #6 x 5/16 Sweep.
• #11 x 1/8″ Sweep.
• 1mm x 45 degree V-Tool.
• 1/4″ | 6mm x 70 degree V-Tool.

 

Beginner 2-Blade Craft Carver Set:

This set has everything needed to tackle a first time project. The set comes with a quick-connect ABS handle with two interchangeable carving blades, the #6 (5/16″) Sweep and the 1/4″ x 70 degree V-Tool. This set also includes a basswood blank for a leaf carving project, a second blank for practicing, a project DVD with step-by-step visual instructions, as well as a 24-page owner’s manual that outlines the leaf project and provides maintenance and safety tips for beginners.

 

Beginner Palm & Knife Set:

The Beginner Palm & Knife Set features the most popular palm tools and knives. It includes an all-purpose cutting knife plus a detail knife for close work and carving the finest details. The two palm tools offer great cutting control and are perfect for small projects such as caricatures, walking sticks and tableware. Knives included are the FBKN12 cutting knife and FBKN13 detail knife.

3-Knife Starter Set:

This 3-Knife Starter Set features some of Flexcut’s most popular knives. These knives are made with the same edge-holding steel as Flexcut’s gouges and chisels. The comfortable curved ergonomic handles allow for long periods of carving without hand fatigue.

• Polishing compound to maintain your razor-sharp knives.

Cutting Knife for Carving:

The Cutting Knife is a general purpose carving knife, ideal for beginners. Its rounded point is very durable, and features a 1-1/4″ blade bevel length.
