A hidden jewel among printmaking papers, Fabriano Rosaspina Paper is an excellent quality paper made on a cylinder mould in the tradition of the Fabriano Italian papers. It performs as well as 100% rag papers and is excellent for all printmaking techniques. Its 60% cotton content and lack of external sizing give it a sumptuously soft surface ideal for deep etching, aquatint, intaglio, lithography and silkscreen printing.

It is also acid free and conforms to the ISO 9706 ‘long life’ standard therefore giving the assurance of excellent conservation over time. The watermark runs parallel to the two larger, deckled edge sides of the sheet and reproduces the Fabriano trademark and logo (“FABRIANO® + Rosaspina”) .

Description

More on Cotton Paper:

Artists work on paper with a multitude of different media including graphite, charcoal, watercolour, inks, coloured pencil and pastel. Artist paper is acid free which helps to optimise the structure of the paper, minimising deterioration over time including fading, yellowing, or even preventing the paper from falling apart. Cotton papers are considered the highest quality papers as they are acid free, conservation quality and made of the strongest fibres. This is important to many artists as it allows them to erase repeatedly, lift colour with ease, and scrub and scratch, without holes tears and breaks appearing in the paper. Cotton papers are more expensive than the alternative wood-free paper, often a mix of cotton and lignin free cellulose fibres.
