Description
Raphaël SoftAqua Watercolour Brushes
Raphael SoftAqua is a synthetic brush series crafted in France. The fibres are engineered to mimic the soft, highly absorbent qualities of natural squirrel hair. The goal is to offer large water capacity with a soft touch and excellent fluid control. These brushes are not made from real squirrel hair so they are vegan-friendly.
- High liquid retention: The unique synthetic fibres are waved and textured to hold plenty of water and pigment. That means longer smooth washes without frequent reloading.
- Soft and responsive feel: SoftAqua fibres flex gently under pressure, giving a forgiving and expressive brush stroke ideal for watercolour techniques.
- Fine point: Even though the fibres are soft, they come to a good point that makes light detail and line work possible without sacrificing wash performance.
Raphaël Precision Watercolour Brushes deliver excellent control, sharp points and consistent performance in a synthetic brush that’s ideal for detailed watercolour work, illustration and precision painting. They’re a great choice for artists who want sable‑like performance without natural hair, or for anyone who paints a lot of fine lines, contours and controlled strokes.

Care Tips for Longevity
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water after use.
- Use brush cleaner or mild soap especially after oil painting.
- Don’t let paint dry in the ferrule, that’s a common cause of damage.
- Reshape the bristles while damp before storing.
- Store handles upright or flat to keep tips precise.
- These brushes are forgiving and durable, but good care will keep them performing well for years.
