With its particular feel and multiple shades of grey, Caran D’Ache’s raw graphite grafcubes are made from a homogenous material to achieve thick and thin lines, gradation, flat-wash, blurring or even watercolour effects. All shades and their various gradations have been carefully developed and perfected in the Geneva workshops of Caran D’Ache.

These Graphite Blocks are perfect for creating quick, dramatic sketches and atmospheric line drawings. Grafcubes can add large amounts of solid graphite and tone to large format drawings – use the side of the stick to add large areas of tone and the edges of the stick for fine lines.

These are great for adding shadow and light to your sketches as the graphite blends very easily both dry and with water. Named after the famous Red, Green, Blue coding system, the RGB water-soluble colored graphite sticks are perfect for creating delicate washes on large surfaces. Applied dry, they retain the original properties of graphite — their subtle hues reveal themselves only when they come in contact with water.
