Da Vinci’s Casaneo brushes are built around a specialised synthetic fibre that’s engineered to mimic the softness, fluidity and generous water capacity of natural squirrel hair. The fibres are exceptionally fine, with a gentle spring that gives just enough responsiveness without feeling stiff. This makes the range a favourite for artists who enjoy flowing washes, controlled gradients and smooth colour transitions.

Because the fibres hold a surprising amount of water and release it evenly, Casaneo brushes excel in watercolour, gouache and fluid ink work. They glide softly across the surface, allowing wide, expressive strokes as well as refined detailing when shaped to a fine point. Flats create crisp edges and velvety washes, rounds offer everyday versatility, sword liners make sweeping marks with elegant line variation, and riggers produce long, uninterrupted lines.
