How to use

• Tip the paint pot upside down and shake before use, then open and stir well.
• If the paint is too thick, just add a little water and stir.
• For the best results, use a good quality paintbrush such as the Chalk Paint Brushes to apply the paint.
• For most purposes, one to two coats of paint are enough.

Creative effects

Chalk Paint can be thinned with water and used as a wash. It can also be used as an impasto (thickly) — just leave the lid off overnight to thicken.

Sealing and finishing

Add Chalk Paint Wax for a subtle sheen, protection and durability. For an aged look, add Dark or Black Chalk Paint Wax. To lighten colours or for a limed look, try White Chalk Paint Wax.

About Chalk Paint

Chalk Paint is the brand name for Annie Sloan’s unique water-based decorative paint, developed by Annie Sloan specifically for furniture in 1990. It is non-toxic and virtually odour-free, with minimal volatile organic compounds at 0.13% VOC, and can be applied to most surfaces with very rarely any priming or sanding needed before painting. Use it on walls, floors, wood, concrete, metal, matt plastic, earthenware, brick, stone and more — inside or outside. You can even use it to paint upholstery and dye fabric.

Chalk Paint produces extensive coverage of approximately 13.9m² per litre, the equivalent of a small dresser, and one coat is usually enough.
