Description
Wassily Kandinsky, painter and lecturer at the Bauhaus school, summed it up neatly when he said: ‘Everything starts from a dot.’ This quote highlights the fact that for creative minds, the process of committing ideas to paper via the hand begins with a dot on the page. The first point of contact between thoughts and paper, a crucial moment.
Clean, minimalist forms, functional details, and classic colours are key features of the modern era’s most influential design school , and also the principles that have always guided the design of Leuchtturm1917 products. As a tribute to the revolutionary Bauhaus style, Leuchtturm1917 created a special edition that includes a notebook, Pen Loop, and Drehgriffel, whose form, colour, and details honour the pioneering Bauhaus ethos.
The mechanism of the writing and drawing instrument is made in Germany. When the twistable head is turned, the chuck opens at the tip, and the graphite is pushed forward at the same time. When the twist mechanism is released, the chuck closes and holds the graphite in place. Inside the Drehgriffel Nr. 2, there is also a chamber that holds several refills at once and immediately pushes the next one forward when the other has been used up.
Details: Pencil with twist mechanism, made of aluminium, and a front tip (fine-tip) made of steel. With a 0.7 mm graphite lead. Hardness of the lead: HB. Refillable (reservoir holds several refills at the same time). Length: 13 cm.
