Van Dieman’s Fountain Pen Ink Wetter lowers surface tension to revitalize dry, scratchy, or poorly flowing fountain pen inks. By making your ink “wetter,” it increases flow speed and consistency, eliminating skipping and hard starts for a noticeably smoother writing experience.

What Does Ink Wetter Do? Surface tension dictates how freely a fluid flows. High surface tension results in “dry” ink that moves slowly and resists paper absorption. While some pens handle dry ink well, others require a wetter fluid to perform reliably.

  • Enhances Flow: Reduces surface tension so ink glides effortlessly and absorbs better into paper.

  • Prevents Air Locks: Contains anti-foaming agents that stop bubbles and foam from disrupting ink flow.

  • Cleans Internal Mechanisms: Gently removes grease, dried dye residues, shimmer particles, and dust.

  • Protects Against Contamination: Infused with a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent to safeguard both ink and pen from mold and bacteria for up to 48 months.

How to Use SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE

Tip: Test this product on a small batch before treating an entire bottle. Use the included pipette to transfer a portion of ink into a clean glass container.

  1. Measure: Add 1.0 mL of Ink Wetter per 100 mL of fountain pen ink using the dropper.

  2. Mix: Stir gently or recap and invert the bottle slowly (do not shake vigorously).

  3. Test: Fill a clean fountain pen and test the ink flow.

  4. Adjust: For extremely dry inks, add up to an additional 1.0 mL per 100 mL and test again.

Caution: Do not exceed 5.0 mL of Ink Wetter per 100 mL of ink.
