Description
ABIG 17250 Geared Drive Printing Press
Powerful, precise, and built for ambitious printmaking. The ABIG 17250 is a robust geared printing press designed for both relief and intaglio printing, offering exceptional stability, smooth operation, and precise pressure control. With its generous 500 × 700 mm printing bed and ability to accommodate paper up to A2, it provides ample working space for larger and more demanding print projects.
The press features a heavy-duty cast-aluminium frame with solid 80 mm diameter steel rollers, providing excellent strength and consistent pressure. Pressure can be adjusted evenly from both ends of the upper roller, while the roller can be raised to approximately 24 mm clearance to accommodate thicker relief plates. A special clearance of up to 40 mm is available on request.
The large four-spoke handwheel drives the press through a 3:1 planetary gearbox, providing smooth, controlled movement while reducing the effort required to operate the press. The printing bed consists of a durable 2.5 mm zinc-plated steel plate securely mounted to a plywood base and guided smoothly through the press on rollers and specially coated side strips.
The ABIG 17250 uses a friction-driven bed system. When printing with lino or plates thicker than approximately 1 mm, runners made from lino or wood of the same height can be used to help the bed engage correctly and maintain even pressure.
Combining power, precision, generous working space, and effortless geared operation, the ABIG 17250 is an excellent choice for artists, professional print studios, workshops, and serious printmakers working across both relief and intaglio techniques.
