Description
The Graf von Faber-Castell Guilloche Cognac Fountain Pen celebrates the artistry of traditional European craftsmanship. Guilloché, an ornamental engraving technique characterised by intricate patterns of fine lines, was historically used to embellish luxury watches, jewellery and treasured objects such as the legendary Fabergé eggs. Graf von Faber-Castell brings this decorative tradition to its Guilloche collection, transforming each writing instrument into a distinctive expression of precision and elegance.
The precious resin barrel is meticulously engraved line by line to create its delicate textured pattern. Multiple stages of hand-lacquering and polishing enhance the surface, bringing depth and refinement to the warm Cognac finish. The manufacturing process involves more than 100 individual steps, the majority completed by hand, reflecting the exceptional care invested in every instrument.
At the heart of the fountain pen is a handmade, bicoloured 18-carat gold nib with an iridium tip. Each nib is individually run in by hand to ensure a smooth, consistent writing experience. The Oblique Medium (OM) and Oblique Broad (OB) options feature angled nib tips, offering different line widths to accommodate individual writing preferences. The OM provides a finer line than the OB, while the OB produces broader strokes for a more expressive writing style.
The practical cartridge/converter filling system provides flexibility in ink selection and everyday use, combining traditional fountain pen craftsmanship with modern convenience.
Completing the presentation is an elegant, slender chamois-coloured gift box, lined with wood and finished with dark brown wooden ends. A magnetic closure opens to reveal a carefully designed interior, with the fountain pen protected inside a linen pouch. This luxurious presentation makes the Guilloche Cognac Fountain Pen a beautiful gift for writing enthusiasts, collectors and anyone who appreciates exceptional craftsmanship.
