Description

Limited Edition – Tribute to Alpine Spirit

Inspired by the quiet majesty of the Swiss Alps, the Caran d’Ache Varius Oberalp Rollerball Pen is an extraordinary limited edition that celebrates Swiss craftsmanship, heritage, and the enduring culture of handwriting.

Part of Caran d’Ache’s prestigious Varius collection, the Oberalp elevates the writing instrument into the realm of collectible luxury. The pen is silver-plated and finished with a radiant rhodium coating, giving it a sophisticated lustre, exceptional durability, and a refined architectural presence in the hand. Intricate engraved motifs inspired by traditional alpine chalet friezes pay tribute to the artistry and craftsmanship of the Swiss mountain regions from which the edition draws its inspiration.

The Oberalp carries the quiet confidence of an object designed to outlast trends. Elegant yet deeply tactile, it possesses the reassuring weight and precision expected from one of Switzerland’s finest writing instrument manufacturers.

As with all Caran d’Ache Varius writing instruments, the writing experience itself is exceptionally smooth and balanced. The rollerball format combines the fluidity and richness of fountain pen writing with the practicality and convenience of a modern rollerball refill, making it ideal for daily writing, correspondence, journalling, or professional use.

This exceptional edition is presented in a beautifully crafted collector’s case made from solid Swiss beechwood.

Measuring 22.5 x 11 x 11 cm, the case takes its form from the architecture of a traditional high alpine chalet. The decorative Oberalp frieze is engraved directly onto the wood, reinforcing the strong connection between the edition and the Swiss alpine landscape that inspired it.

The inner wedge is reversible and can securely accommodate either one or two pens, making the presentation both practical and visually striking. Designed specifically to house the Oberalp Limited Edition, the case transforms the pen into a true collector’s display piece.

This particular example is individually numbered 72 of only 2044 produced worldwide, adding a rare sense of exclusivity and collectability to an already exceptional writing instrument.
