Zellen paper glaze is an awesome product that can be used on paper crafts, watercolour, acrylic paints and more to create various effects. It is an acid-free, thick, glossy varnish that can be used to create 3D effects or simply to create a gloss layer over artworks or craft projects.

It can be used over watercolour without your paint running or smudging as it is not water-based like watercolour is.

You can use any sort of brush, but we found that synthetic acrylic brushes work well as they are soft, yet still springy and firm. Use thinners or acetone to clean your brush – turpentine won’t work here – and remember to clean your brush as soon as you are done working so it doesn’t get crusty! Drying time for the paper glaze is 24 hours but you will notice it becomes touch-dry in about an hour or two depending on the thickness. And if you’re wanting to thin down the glaze you can add a little bit of 95% ethanol/ alcohol until you reach the desired consistency.
