Description
The Varius™ Rubracer reimagines a material with a strong, recognisable identity by bringing out its full character in a refined writing instrument. Its black rubber body, enhanced with elegant guilloché detailing, gives the piece a bold and modern presence that fits seamlessly into contemporary urban life. This striking design is further elevated by the contrast between textures: the rubber offers a soft, matte finish, while the rhodium-coated silver accents provide a polished, luminous touch. A subtle screw detail embedded in the body introduces an extra note of modern flair, while the cap continues the theme of sophistication with its fine guillochage pattern and newly designed hinged clip.
Rubber, traditionally linked to the high-performance world of motor racing, is celebrated here for its premium qualities. Its flexibility, durability, and water-resistant nature have also made it a prized material in fine watchmaking as well as pen design, adding both function and distinction to this instrument. The hexagonal brass body is coated in genuine rubber and features precisely engraved lines, complemented by a rhodium- and silver-coated clip and push button. The cap is finished with a black lacquered hexagonal emblem, reflecting the brand’s identity.
Designed for comfort and precision, the push-button mechanism ensures smooth operation, while the writing component is also finished in rhodium and silver. The instrument measures 135.1 mm in length with a 9.7 mm diameter and comes fitted with 0.7 mm graphite leads (HB or B), along with replaceable erasers stored discreetly beneath the top. Presented in dedicated Varius™ packaging, this Swiss-made piece combines meticulous craftsmanship with modern design, offering both elegance and practicality.
