Zellen Modelling Paste is the perfect medium for modelling, building surfaces and creating texture. It is a smooth white paste that dries into a flexible opaque relief texture with no shrinking or cracking. Acrylic paint can be added to ‘tint’ the paste for a different effect, but as the paste is white, it will lighten the colour that has been added. A variety of tools can be used to mould, sculpt or create texture and a plastic palette knife is a go-to tool when using a stencil. Paint scrapers can be used to create interesting patterns on the paste. It is excellent for creating impasto textures and can be applied to any semi-porous surface. Use either canvas or a 300gsm paper which can take the weight of the modelling paste.
