Akua’s innovative line of modifiers allows artists to cater to Akua Inks’ viscosity and transparency to ideally suit their printmaking project. Each of the modifiers listed below carries the AP Seal.

Akua Mag Mix: For use with Akua Intaglio only, Akua Mag Mix is used to add depth and stiffen the ink. The Mag Mix is slightly crumbly (As shown in Image Gallery), so use your ink knife to work it into a smooth paste. Add your Akua Intaglio ink to the stiffening agent and mix until the colour looks evenly dispersed.  The viscosity of the ink should be so thick that it does not fall off your ink knife.

Akua Liquid Pigment Extender: Akua Extender is used to thin or reconstitute Akua Liquid Pigment if it becomes too thick. Akua Extender is not suitable for use with Akua Intaglio Inks.

Akua Liquid Pigment Tack Thickener: Akua Tack Thickener is used to thicken Akua Liquid Pigment Inks for heavier roll-up applications for monotype or block printing. Akua Tack Thickener is not for use with Akua Intaglio Inks.
