Fabriano Toned paper is ideal for sketching and drawing that emphasizes shading and highlighting techniques. Its cotton content (15%) gives the paper softness and strength. The smooth natural surface is particularly suitable for all dry media such as graphite, charcoal, pastel & crayon, gel pens and pencil. There are four beautiful shades to choose from and each one will give a different result depending on the medium being used.

My favourite kind of paper to use; I use coloured pencils. I actually use the oil based lightfast pencils from derwent. The paper does not leak or warp with the alcohol based ink application. The only thing I can say is that I wish it were a higher weight. Maybe a 200gsm, or 250.

Great for sketching with opaque mediums, it has its own tone so you only need to add shadows and highlights. I like painting with gouache paint as it looks really good with an already tone paper. It does warp a little but not as bad as you would expect from a light weight paper. I use my paper in my hand made sketch books as it is a great paper to do some fun sketches on.
