The Grey Book

Hahnemühle’s THE GREY BOOK has been awarded as ‘Product of the Year 2018’ by the Association of PBS Brands Industry!

The smooth sketch paper is well suited for working with Indian ink, fountain pens and acrylic markers as well as other water-based pens with minimum abrasion. Colours stand well on the light-grey, non absorbing surface.  Subjects can be laid out from bright to dark and completed by setting white accents.

With its unobtrusive figure, the anthracite-coloured cover provides the impression of precious wood and touching it feels great. Bound in several layers and thread stitched, all the pages seat solidly and allow the artist to work on two pages, across the centre seam.  A red bookmark ribbon completes the premium-quality features.

The Cappuccino Book

With its 120gsm, light-brown paper, this sketchbook reminds of a cappuccino with fresh froth. Therefore, it’s the ideal first choice for warm shades of colour. On the restrained background, colours stand out well and shine gently. By setting white accents, you can create wonderful contrasts. The smooth sketch paper, with its closed surface, is perfectly suited for working with Indian-ink pens, fountain pens and acrylic markers, as well as other water-based pens with minimum abrasion.

The dark-brown cover of the sketchbook nestles smoothly in your hands. Firm and discreetly grained, it feels like real wood. Bound in several layers and thread-stitched, all the pages sit solidly and lie flat when open allowing the artist to work on two pages across the centre seam. A brown bookmark ribbon completes the premium-quality features.

The Cappuccino Book is slim and an ideal companion if you are on the road or travelling. At the same time, it comes with enough reserves for many subjects. Available in A4 and A5, acid-free and with a high level of longevity.

Toned paper is sometimes more inviting and allows the artist to experiment more freely. The light-brown paper also imparts an overall richness, and by starting of with mid-tones, allows you to almost work in reverse, as light seems to dominate over dark. You will love this beautiful sketchbook!

Beautiful sketchbooks. Takes ink without blotting through (except alcohol ink markers) – Used the greybook book for inktober and so glad I did! Extra dimension. Wonderful for coloured pencil work, portraits and architecture as well.

  2. Melize233 (verified owner)

This is a lovely sketchbook. I have the cappuccino sketchbook. It holds inks and coloured pencils very well and ads a unique twist to my sketches.
