Description

The Caran d’Ache Ecridor collection has long stood as one of the most recognisable expressions of the Swiss manufacturer’s expertise in fine engraving, precision engineering, and timeless writing instrument design. With each new edition, the iconic hexagonal silhouette becomes a canvas for Caran d’Ache’s master engravers, whose intricate guilloché work continues to evolve the collection while preserving its unmistakable identity.

The Ecridor Type 55 Mechanical Pencil draws its inspiration from an entirely different world — the legendary spirit of classic collector’s automobiles. Influenced by the muscular bodywork and flowing lines of the iconic Mustang, the Type 55 edition captures the energy, elegance, and mechanical beauty of a car that defined an era.

The result is a writing instrument that feels both architectural and dynamic.

Crafted from solid brass and finished with silver-plating and a luminous rhodium coating, the Ecridor Type 55 possesses exceptional visual depth and durability. The intricate guilloché engraving reflects the contours and styling cues associated with vintage performance cars, creating a fascinating play of light across the hexagonal body.

Elegant without being overstated, the pencil carries the reassuring weight and precision expected from a finely engineered Swiss writing instrument.

The Ecridor’s iconic hexagonal profile remains one of Caran d’Ache’s most enduring design signatures. Inspired by the shape of a traditional wooden pencil, the faceted barrel provides excellent ergonomics, prevents rolling, and creates a naturally stable and comfortable grip during writing or drawing sessions.

Designed for both luxury and practicality, the Ecridor Type 55 Mechanical Pencil accepts 0.5 mm graphite leads and features a smooth push-button advance mechanism for precise and dependable performance. A replaceable eraser is discreetly concealed beneath the cap, preserving the clean lines of the design while enhancing everyday usability.

The flexible clip and robust metal construction further reinforce the pencil’s role as a sophisticated yet highly functional daily writing companion.

Entirely Swiss-made and backed by Caran d’Ache’s lifetime international guarantee, the Ecridor Type 55 Mechanical Pencil reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, durability, and enduring design excellence.
