The Sofft range is a new generation of tools and applicators for artists and crafters, created by artists for artists.

Sofft Tools was specifically developed for use with PanPastels, but these handy, latex-free applicators can also be used with most water-based art and craft materials to create a variety of exciting new techniques, marks and effects. Finished effects are different compared to brushes as the brush stroke is eliminated.

Sofft products are versatile, inexpensive and can be reused several times because they are so easy to clean! “Clean” Sofft Tools between colors by wiping on a dry paper towel. Once used they will be stained from the pigments, however wiping on a paper towel will remove any pigment residue. Every now and then the sponges can be washed with a mild soap and warm water, squeeze and air dry fully.

The artist canvas panel or board is made for the artist who prefers to work on a support structure that has no give under applied brush strokes. It is suitable for acrylic and oil mediums and ideal for acrylic pouring. These panels or boards are also the perfect choice for practice, studies, art classes and projects as most of these panels are portable.

A useful tip for artists wanting to use panels that are larger than 1.5 meters –  it is recommended that a backing frame be laminated to the panel for extra strength.

These Supawood panels and boxes deliver consistently strong and sturdy support. They are dense, flat, super smooth and can be directly primed with gesso, Encaustic gesso, or barrier-coated with PVA before oil priming. Some artists use these panels to make linen or cotton canvas panels or to mount sanded pastel or watercolour paper for a firm archival painting surface. Supawood refers to wood chips that are ground into a fibre, blended with resin, then bonded together through heat and pressure into a premium quality panel product.
