Schmincke AERO TEX Textile Medium converts AERO COLOR Professional liquid acrylic colours into flexible, washable textile paints suitable for airbrushing and other fabric decoration techniques. Mixed in a 1:1 ratio with AERO COLOR Professional, it improves the adhesion of the colour to textile fibres while helping the finished design retain the soft, flexible feel of the fabric.

The water-based medium is suitable for decorating clothing, accessories, fabric artwork and other textile projects. It can be used on suitable natural and synthetic fabrics and works particularly well with spray application, while also being suitable for brush and screen-printing techniques.

For best results, wash, dry and iron the fabric before application. Once the design has been applied, allow it to dry completely before heat-setting it by ironing the reverse side. The required setting time varies according to the fabric: approximately 2 minutes for cotton, 4 to 6 minutes for silk and wool, and 8 minutes for synthetic fabrics. The temperature should always be adjusted according to the textile being treated.

Once properly heat-set, the finished design is washable at up to 30°C. Do not dry clean textiles treated with AERO TEX. The medium dries to a water-insoluble film, making thorough heat-setting and appropriate fabric care important for durability.
