Schmincke AERO Thinning Medium is an adhesion-enhancing medium and thinner specially developed for AERO COLOR® Professional airbrush colours. It improves the way airbrush colour adheres to the surface while increasing resistance to smudging, wiping and water once dry.

The medium can be mixed with AERO COLOR® Professional in any ratio, allowing artists to adjust the paint according to the desired application and finish. It can also be diluted with water when required and is particularly useful for spray applications where controlled flow and improved adhesion are important.

Application & Processing

Shake well before use. AERO Thinning Medium is ready to use but may be mixed with water when necessary. Add it to AERO COLOR® Professional in the desired proportion to modify the colour’s application and adhesion properties.

For optimum spray application, Schmincke recommends a processing temperature of 15 to 30°C, an air pressure of approximately 2 bar, and a nozzle size of at least 0.15mm for standard colours or 0.3mm for effect colours. The product should not be used when the object or room temperature is below 10°C.

Clean airbrushes and tools immediately after use with water and/or Schmincke AERO CLEAN RAPID. Close the container immediately after use and store in a cool, dry place. Protect from frost. Individual pre-tests are recommended, particularly when working on unfamiliar surfaces.
