Schmincke Aqua Bronze is a range of five colours of dry metallic powders with a water-soluble binder. There are three shades of gold, plus silver and copper.  The binder is dextrin glue, a starch-based glue, that is re-wettable like watercolour. Mix it with watercolours and gouache to add a bit of sparkle or use it by itself to add areas of metallic shine to your painting. Unlike effect colours based on pearlescent pigments, Aqua Bronzes use actual bronze and aluminium metal pigments for outstanding coverage and a radiant, true metallic lustre. The Aqua Bronze is much more opaque and is more metallic. The high opacity is due to genuine bronze pigments, instead of pearlescent pigments in Horadam.

Product Features:

• Specially developed for metallic effects based on genuine metal pigments.
• Suitable on surfaces including paper, cardboard, illustration board and canvas.
• Mix with water on a palette shortly before use.
• Gloss and coverage adjustable depending on the amount of water.
• Dries smear-resistant (Not waterproof). Do not mix with too much water or it will rub off the surface once dry.
• Compatible with gouache and watercolour paintings.
• Not suitable for plaster, metal or plastic.
• Five tones available in 20ml glass jar.

Available Options:

• Rich Gold (811) is a deep, warm gold.
• Rich Pale Gold (812) is a warm gold with a lighter, slightly cooler tone.
• Pale Gold (813) is the lightest of the golds with a champagne character.
• Copper (814) delivers the warm red-brown of copper metal.
• Silver (815) is a cool, bright aluminium silver.
