Schmincke HORADAM Aquarell Signature Edition 2026
- 045 Feeling Peachy × Evan Woodruffe is a warm orange-coral colour with a pink undertone. Designed for subtle colour shifts and soft lighting effects, it is particularly suited to landscapes, dawn and dusk scenes and diffuse glazing over greens. The colour is semi-opaque and highly lightfast.
- 046 Berliner Spreegrün × Gris is a very dark olive green developed as a warm alternative to Perylene Green. Its rich, subdued character makes it particularly suitable for botanical subjects and deep backgrounds. It is semi-opaque and highly lightfast.
- 047 Red Ochre × Hazel Sloan is an earthy red-brown with a softer red character than Burnt Sienna. It is suited to sunlit subjects including red rocks, skin tones, bricks and rooftops, and can also be used as an underlying glaze in landscapes, figures and architectural subjects. It is semi-opaque and highly lightfast.
- 048 Amber is a warm golden-brown inspired by the layered colour variations of fossilised resin. Depending on dilution and the painting surface, it can reveal glazing yellow, granulating red and violet-brown characteristics. It is highly lightfast, semi-transparent and semi-staining.
- 049 Lavender is a delicate, granulating blue-violet based on the historic PV15 pigment. It is semi-transparent, non-staining and highly lightfast, providing a soft violet addition to the palette with a pronounced granulating character.
The 50 Supergranulating colours combine at least two granulating HORADAM pigments to create supergranulation — dramatic texture, depth, and subtle colour shifts that become especially visible on rough watercolour paper.

Horadam Naturals: A high-quality, environmentally friendly and vegan watercolour that offers a unique combination of watercolour and gouache properties. The range is formulated exclusively from natural earth pigments and plant-based pigments and extracts, with gum arabic as the binder. The natural pigments produce a slightly coarser texture than standard watercolour, creating a rougher, usually slightly granular surface effect. The consistency is a little tougher than standard watercolour, making the colour more controllable, comparable to a gouache. Slight batch colour variations and a subtle natural fragrance in some shades are characteristics of the natural ingredients, not quality defects. Available in 15ml tubes and sets.
The Schmincke HORADAM Aquarell Retro colours revive three historical shades from the 1930s, each presented under its original name as part of the Schmincke Retro Line II. These are pigments that were widely used in earlier centuries but have since largely disappeared from art supply ranges. Schmincke has reformulated each one using modern, lightfast equivalents that preserve the original colour character while meeting contemporary artist standards. All three are exclusively available within the Retro Line and are not part of the standard HORADAM Aquarell range.
