Create raised, three-dimensional surfaces and textured effects with Schmincke Aqua Modelling Pastes. Specially developed for watercolour techniques, these modelling paste creates a white, relief-like painting ground that can be overpainted with watercolour once completely dry.

The paste can be applied to suitable grease-free surfaces such as heavyweight watercolour paper, cardboard, wood and canvas using a spatula. Once dry, it forms a water-resistant, water-insoluble film that provides a durable textured surface for further painting.

For additional colour and creative flexibility, the modelling paste can be tinted directly with tube watercolour or acrylic colour before application. It is water-mixable while wet, making it easy to work with and spread.
