Gamblin Artists’ Oil Colours are made using high-quality pigments and carefully selected vegetable oil binders to provide rich colour and excellent working properties. Most colours use an alkali-refined linseed oil binder, while some use safflower oil. The alkali-refined linseed oil provides a strong, flexible paint film with less yellowing than traditional cold-pressed linseed oil. Gamblin oil colours can be used without solvents and thinned with small amounts of Gamblin Refined Linseed Oil. This makes the range well suited to artists looking for a straightforward approach to oil painting, whether working in a studio, classroom or home environment.
