Coloursoft is Derwent’s softest pencil ever and for this range, they created 72 vibrant colours. As their name implies they have a soft texture which brings out the richness of the colour that, together with their nice wide colour strip, allows you to build up colour quickly. So, if you like doing bold still-life drawings or contemporary landscapes then Derwent Coloursoft is the range for you.
Product features:
- The velvety softcore is perfect for mixing and blending.
- The perfect mix of a coloured pencil and a pastel.
- Hues are rich and the barrels are sturdy for a sure grip.
- Thick, round, 8mm barrel, with a 4mm core.
- Lightfastness ranges from 2 to 8.
- Available sets: Metal tin sets of 6 (Portrait), 12, 24, 36 & 72 as well as a wooden box set of 72.

Derwent uses the Blue Wool test (ISO 105) to evaluate lightfastness. Lightfastness refers to the chemical stability of a pigment under long exposure to light.
A scale of 1-8 is obtained, with values of 6 or higher being considered to be highly lightfast and, under museum conditions, will not fade for 100+ years.
