Sword Flat/Round: For long and curved lines of varying thickness and beautiful gradients. Extremely fine details can be done with the brush tip. Perfect for all floral motifs.

Slanted Angle: The beveled, tapered brush tip is particularly suitable for various types of strokes and ribbons.

Liner: Perform thin and precise lines with this brush. It’s slim shape makes this a high storage capacity brush.

Flat: The flat version is particularly well suited for spreading paint, creating even surfaces and glazing. The shape is also perfect for painting corners. With the brush edge, fine lines can be drawn.

Round-Pointed: The fine brush tip allows to realise the smallest details. At the same time, a very good storage of colour is guaranteed by the large number of closely spaced hairs. Thereby larger areas and colour gradients can be created fast and easily.

Cat-Tongue: The wide, tapered shape combines the advantages of the flat and the round variant. This makes cat tongue-shaped brushes particularly versatile. The shape allows the artist to create an even application and smooth colour transitions, as well as to paint lines and fine details. Also, it is ideal for painting round shapes.

Flat-Slanted: The bevelled, tapered brush tip is particularly suitable for creating various types of strokes and ribbons.

French Aqua: This brush is made by using a blend of fibres with varying diameters in a perfect mix, which translates to an extremely high storage capacity. ideal for soft techniques.

The KUM Memory Point high-tech hairs have been specially developed for KUM. These brush hairs surpass all previously known synthetic fibres in many properties as the material and its special processing give the brush its special properties. The memory point brushes finally offer what artists need.

The Memory Point Brush has a perfectly shaped brush tip, as the synthetic fibres used, offer an excellent elasticity. This makes it possible to paint the smallest details with every brush size and to work with extreme precision. The fine tip returns to its original shape even after repeated use, making the Memory Point Brush especially durable.

The Memory Point Brush is also suitable for large-scale work thanks to its excellent storage capacity. Colour can be optimally absorbed and released and even surfaces and colour gradients can be created quickly and easily.

Unlike many conventional brushes that can only be used with a specific medium, the memory Point Brush is suitable with a variety of water-based mediums like gouache, acrylic, reverse glass painting, silk painting and watercolour paint.

The Memory Point Brush has a short handle, which makes it particularly suitable for painting at a table or for detailed work. The paintbrush handle is smooth and the brush feels comfortable in your hand. The wood used for the handles all comes from FSC certified domestic forests, no tropical wood is used. All the handles contain no formaldehyde, lead, cadmium or other toxins according to DIN 53160 and are sweat and saliva resistant. The ferrule is nickel-plated brass which is rust-resistant.

Each artist has different demands on his/her brush, depending on the painting technique and the object. That’s why the Memory Point brushes are available in different sizes, as well as four unique shapes.

Excellent value for money and very versatile. They perform better than some of my expensive sables. And they always snap back into a sharp point.

  2. Pippymoon (verified owner)

    Really great affordable watercolour brushes

Good quality art supplies can cost an arm and a leg – especially for South African artists, who depend on quality supplies being imported. I was looking for decently priced brushes of high quality, so I did my research and then decided on Kum brushes. I have been using them for a couple of months now and I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised! When you hold the brush, you can feel the quality. Not a single hair has come loose (something I get with cheaper brushes often). The hair jumps back to its original position after it has dried. It soaks up pigment and water, so you don’t have to reload the brush as often. The tips are still as sharp as when I first got the brushes.

I use these (the round tips) for watercolour. It is my preferred brand to use and I paint exclusively with these, except for a mop brush for which I use a squirrel hair brush. I definitely recommend these.

  5. Margie Backhouse (verified owner)

The memory point synthetic round brushes live up to the claims, holding a lot of pigment and producing easy, flowing strokes from thin to thick to thin. They are not too soft, but springy and controllable. The fibres taper to a fine point, and unlike cheap synthetics are not trimmed to a point but shaped like expensive natural hair brushes. Very happy, thanks KUM!
