Flow – Watercolour Course by Karin Malan

R1 615.00

I’m an artist from George in the Western Cape Province and my passion is flowy art in watercolours and oils. If it can be splashed, poured or painted, I will love to play with it! By building a solid foundation of techniques, I help artists find their inner creativity. Thus providing them with skills and helpful tips which will make their creative dreams become a reality.

The Flow Watercolour Course is perfect for you if:

  • You’ve never used watercolours before.
  • You’ve tried painting with watercolours, but felt that it got away from you very quickly.
  • You’ve done a few paintings, but feel that you lack some of the basic skills to paint with ease.
  • You want to paint loose watercolours, but your paintings are all too perfect and precise.

Please note that the cost of the bundle is only for the art materials needed – the cost of the course is separate and the course can be purchased on Karin’s website – www.karinmalan.com

Description

Flow – Watercolour Course Information:

This course is an introduction to the basic and intermediate skills needed to master watercolour painting. The course is divided into 6 lessons, which will follow the most common order of creating a watercolour painting.

In Lessons #1 and #2, we start by covering the general, big areas of watercolour paintings and for that reason, the first part deals with the very wet work, called washes.  You will gain control over how wet to work, right at the beginning of the course. We then progress to the more detailed skills, (over 4 parts), which involves learning how to use your paintbrush to your advantage, as well as more detailed brush techniques to give your painting impact. I’m going to show you how to create all those beautiful effects that make watercolours so exciting. The aim is to learn the basics as well as have fun by simplifying the process. View the Flow Watercolour Course.

You will also need:

  • Kitchen towel.
  • Cloth to absorb excess water.  (A piece of an old towel will do).
  • Clean water and a container to dump dirty water.
  • Masking fluid is optional.  You do not have to use it, but I do cover the correct usage of it in the course. There is no exercise that you need it for and it’s simply a “nice to have” and not crucial. – If you’re not buying masking fluid, then you also don’t need to buy the smallest, round synthetic brush. Alternatively. if you buy masking fluid, you should also buy a bar of white sunlight soap. We use it to protect the small brush against the masking fluid.
