Silicone Cell Former – Atlas

Silicone is a greasy, non-drying oil-like substance. Pouring artists create stunning  cells and effects with this additive by adding a few drops to their color as they are mixing and preparing their paints. Once the paints are combined and poured onto the substrate, the silicone rises to the surface creating circular holes and revealing the layers underneath. Watch as spectacular patterns emerge with this pouring medium.

Product features:

  • Transparent additive ideal for acrylic pouring and fluid art.
  • Simply add a few drops to any water based acrylic or craft paint pouring mixture.
  • Won’t affect paint colours.
  • Creates cells and other stunning effects.
  • For larger cells, add more oil.
  • Available in a 125ml bottle.

How to mix silicone in acrylic pouring mix:

The perfect recipe will take some time and experimentation to find, but a good starting point would be the following:

1 part acrylic paint: 1.5 parts pouring medium: 2-3 drops of silicone.

Only add silicone to the colours where you want the cells to appear. Experiment with side by side tests to find the final result you want to achieve.
